NEW INFORMATION FOR GUILDSMEN AND PARTICIPANTS INTERESTED IN THE GILMORE FISHER BODY CRAFTSMAN’S GUILD EVENT APRIL TO OCTOBER 2019

Model Status: All 100 models have been selected for the exhibit and congratulatory emails have been sent to those Guildsmen whose models have been accepted. The Gilmore is accepting models from those participants who have been approved for display and wish to hand carry them to the museum. Your model must have been already selected for them to accept delivery and each must be accompanied by the signed loan agreement.

If you wish to personally deliver your model, please contact Emily Reed. She is the collections registrar and has full responsibility for the care of all models kept at the Gilmore. There is a specific location in a secure climate controlled area for all FBCG models held at the museum prior to the exhibit.

Please understand that the FBCG alumni who have organized the Gilmore exhibition will not be handling your models or memorabilia at any stage of the proceedings. Gilmore’s professional staff will be unpacking and placing the models in the showcases for the 6-month show. In addition, the Gilmore is providing $500 in insurance coverage for your models while in their possession. If you desire more coverage for your models, you should contact your homeowners or other personal property insurer to determine what additional coverage might be available and what it might cost you. The shipper should be responsible for any damage they cause during their possession. Naturally, it is expected that you will take reasonable precautions in packing your models for shipping so that they are as secure as possible while in transit.

The Gilmore will be assembling cases specially made for our show and placed in a large central location in the complex. In other words, the FBCG show will be a featured display.

On April 5th, we will enjoy a buffet dinner for model contributors and their families. We are convinced that the Gilmore experience will be first class in every respect and that the FBCG models will be tastefully and beautifully displayed, as one would expect from any of the finest museums in the country. We believe it will be remembered for many years to come

The Gilmore is North America’s largest auto museum with nearly 400 vehicles on display and over 189,000 square feet
