A film by Andrew Filippone, Jr.

Synopsis: It was a strange and curious misfit. Though born a Buick, the Grand National was clearly something else. It was too quick and too brutish to carry that stodgy name. There was something inside the car trying to get out.

Cast: Tony Assenza, Paul Castle, Richard Clark, Csaba Csere, Anthony Colucci, Bob Colvin, Mike Doble, Lawrence R. Gustin, Rick Hunt, Doug Nigro, Steve Pasteiner, William Porter, Lloyd Reuss, Martyn L. Schorr, Don Sherman, Gary Smith

I was selling Buicks when these cars came along. Everyone at the dealership, especially us younger guys knew they were something special, unlike anything we had seen on our showroom in years. A real performance car with manners. The buying public’s response was dramatic from the very beginning and here we are still talking about them 25+ years later. Will forever be considered a true American classic. My favorite compliment ever “that’s no poser baby, that’s the MOTHER SHIP!”
