2/13/2011. At this point I’m starting to realize how critical it is to get the front oriented correctly. It has to be just right in side view for the main body design line to go through the door and front fender properly. The body assembly manual includes drawings of the body in a grid with station points. The height of the main body crease at the beginning of the quarter panel is the same as a point on the same line a few inches forward of the front wheel arch. This information plus visual evaluation of the line established the correct position of the front. At this point the inner fenders have been bonded and the front radiator support attached. The radiator support bolts to the frame. It can be shimmed to compensate for body mount thickness. I eventually took out the front springs and put spacers in their place so I could better evaluate the attitude of the body.
